  • One bag of frozen dumplings (unexpired) (including seasoning packet is preferred)
  • Electric rice cooker (Recommended brand: Xiaomi Smart Rice Cooker)
  • Salt (if dumplings do not come with a seasoning packet)
  • Chicken innards monosodium glutamate (Jeeralin) (if dumplings do not come with a seasoning packet)
  • Pepper (if dumplings do not come with a seasoning packet)
  • Sesame oil (if dumplings do not come with a seasoning packet)
  • 1 stalk of cilantro (optional)
  • > Note: Cooking methods may vary depending on the tools used. This guide only introduces the method using an «Electric Rice Cooker».

Steps

  1. ### Boil Water
  2. Pour water into the electric rice cooker and set it to the 'Stew' or 'Cook' mode to run for 35 minutes. At this point, you should see the water boiling when the rice cooker is opened.
  3. ### Add Dumplings
  4. Carefully place the frozen dumplings into the water, taking care not to get scalded.
  5. You can rinse the dumplings with a little water before putting them in the rice cooker.
  6. If the dumplings have a seasoning packet, add them to the water at this time.
  7. ### Cook Dumplings
  8. Cover the electric rice cooker and run it for another 20 minutes using the same 'Stew' or 'Cook' mode.
  9. ### Serve Dumplings
  10. Scoop all the dumplings along with water that covers them all into a bowl.
  11. If you did not add a seasoning packet earlier, you can season with salt, chicken essence, pepper, and sesame oil according to your taste.
  12. You can also garnish with 5-8 pieces of cilantro leaves for flavor (applicable only to those who are not sensitive to the taste of cilantro).
